The current staff of the Outdoor Program would like to welcome all past and present staff, alumni and associates to a reception to celebrate the diverse group of students and staff who have led this program, the nation's oldest, for the past 40 years.

More than a generation after its inception, the nation’s first college-supported outdoor program celebrates its 40-year anniversary. Photos of Outdoor Program staff and participants are sprinkled throughout the Portland State yearbooks as they hiked, climbed, rafted, skied, and snow-shoed around the northwest. While the photos remain, the staff have come and gone leaving little more than the legends.
Still in full swing today, the Outdoor Program plans trips year-round to provide the PSU community with low-cost access to a range of outdoor opportunities, while incorporating leadership skills and technical training into its activities. In addition, it provides outdoor rental equipment and a rock climbing center for the PSU community.
Join us on this evening to share common experiences, friendships and enthusiasm. Please bring pictures, memories and stories to share. We will have a slide show, an interactive timeline, tours of current facilities and commemorative gifts. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash-bar will be available.
