Listen to April Baer's interview with Walidah Imarisha here.

As tensions exploded in Ferguson, Missouri this week, America’s complex relationship with race came front and center. These issues are daily bread for poet Walidah Imarisha.

Imarisha teaches at Portland State University, and writes all manner of prose, from literary criticism to journalistic reportage of capital punishment.
