WHEN: Wednesday, October 10, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
This educational outreach session will allow teachers and students to participate in hands-on demonstrations, explore physics, see prototypes and applications, and meet scientists!
Talks will be given by
- Professor Paul Chu, The Science of Superconductors: 25 Years of Superconductivity. Prof. Chu will share the excitement of discovering the first high temperature superconductor (HTS), explain the unique properties of HTS and discuss progress and challenges to date in making practical materials for revolutionary applications.
- Dr. Cathy Foley
- Dr. Kathleen Amm, Women in Science. Nationally and internationally renown scientists will engage the teachers and students in brief conversations about careers in science and engineering.
