We offer three categories of educational opportunities: 

Professional Certificates

PSU offers high quality academic programs and learning opportunities to educate today’s leaders as well as the next generation of leaders and managers in the nonprofit sector. Emphasis is placed on addressing a changing nonprofit landscape while focusing on community-building leadership.
 

Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Program Evaluation

The Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Program Evaluation provides students with a solid foundation in the core concepts and practice of program evaluation. Taught over a 9-month period and meeting once a month, the program is designed to support working professionals in the nonprofit sector.

WVDO Professional Programs

WVDO offers the Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising in partnership with The Nonprofit Institute. We encourage you to get more information about this and more education and training opportunities on WVDO's website.

WVDO offers several unique nonprofit professional training and education opportunities, including grant writing, leadership development and management training.

Master of Public Administration (MPA), Nonprofit Management Specialization

Offered by the Department of Public Administration in PSU's Hatfield School of Government.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) focuses on preparing students for administrative positions in governmental and nonprofit organizations. The Nonprofit Management Specialization provides an integrated academic/practice-based learning environment wherein students take their academic and theoretical learning and apply it to important issues affecting nonprofits and nongovernmental organizations, community groups and governmental units.

Master of Public Policy (MPP)

Offered jointly by the Departments of Political Science and Public Administration in PSU's Hatfield School of Government.

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is designed as a two-year full time or three to four-year part-time masters program. Students will undertake training in core competencies in policy analysis and leadership as well as specialize in a policy area. A summative project and a professional development plan will round out the educational experience.

Graduate Certificates

Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Public Management

Offered by the Department of Public Administration in PSU's Hatfield School of Government.

The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Public Management consists of 21 credit hours of graduate coursework in Public Administration with an emphasis in either Public or Nonprofit Management. The Certificate is intended to provide existing and aspiring middle managers in nonprofit and public organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in carrying out their administrative responsibilities. The certificate program has been deliberately created to meet the very high rate of retirements that is occurring at the middle and upper ranks of many nonprofit and public organizations.
