Two LSAMP Scholars to Present at the Emerging Researchers’ National Conference in Atlanta

Two LSAMP Scholars, Allie Simpson, Environmental Science, and Adilene Amaro-Zurito, Environmental Engineering, were selected to present posters at the Emerging Researchers' National Conference in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Simpson will discuss her work "The effects of mycorrhizal fungi on sex-specific competition in Distichlis spicata seedlings" under Dr. Sarah Eppley, Center for Life in Extreme Environments, Department of Biology, Portland State University. Ms. Amaro-Zurito will present her work, "The impact of the Sydney coordinated adaptive traffic control system on the heavily congested arterial, Powell Blvd, Portland, Oregon" with lead professor, Dr. Miguel Figliozzi, Civil Engineering, Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science.
