2018 Chinese Bridge Summer Camp

Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for U.S. High School Students is an annual 2-week long, Chinese language and culture experiential study tour in China, sponsored by the Hanban/ Confucius Institute Headquarters with the cooperation of Confucius Institutes in the U.S.A. The program aims to enhance Sino-U.S. youth exchanges, deepening high school students’ understanding of and personal experience with Chinese language and culture.

  • March 6, 2018  (post-marked by mail) 
  • March 9, 2018  (drop-off in person at the CI-PSU Office by 5:00 PM)
  • Application fee: $150 per student.  Non-refundable for those who receive approval selection from the Hanban headquarters.  The application fee will be used to help cover international airfare for chaperons who will be with the campers throughout the program.


 The Hanban/CI Headquarters covers costs in China--lodging, food, in-country transportation and group activities. Students and chaperons are responsible for international travel fees, international insurance, visa application fees, and personal spending money.


The Confucius Institute at PSU (CI-PSU) is a cultural resource center and non-degree granting entity that promotes cultural exchange and cooperation between the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China.  Housed in Portland State's Office of International Affairs, the Confucius Institute at PSU (CI-PSU) was established in partnership with the  China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (HanBan) in 2007.
