Want to Make a Difference This Spring Break?

Portland State's ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK program is still accepting applications!

(March 24th-March 30th, 2013)

We are accepting applications for both the San Francisco, CA and Houston, TX trips!

San Francisco: Travel with a team down to San Francisco, CA for the week of spring break! During the week, we will be volunteering with organizations that work to address hunger and homelessness in the San Francisco area. This will be an amazing, hands-on opportunity to work within the San Francisco community and help out organizations that are truly doing great work, and need the help! On our free day we will be exploring San Francisco and all that the area has to offer--including a late night bonfire on the beach! The total cost for this trip (transportation, food, lodging, etc.) is $250. For more information and to apply, please contact Katie Hoyt at, or by phone at (503) 396-2269.

Houston, TX: Fly down to Houston, TX with us to build a home! During the week, we will be working on a Habitat for Humanity build--learning about affordable housing, and construction! This is a really wonderful opportunity to get completely engulfed in a week of service; helping out not only a community, but a specific family! During our free day we will be exploring downtown Houston, and experiencing all that makes Houston special! Join us for a week of good old fashioned Southern hospitality! The total cost (transportation, food, lodging, etc.) for this trip is $350. For more information and to apply, please contact Erika Nielsen at, or by phone at (215) 917-0261.

Commit to making a difference and trying something new this Spring Break!
