Environmental economist and the “world’s first and only stand-up economist,” Bauman engages audiences with a mashup that is one-part Economics Primer, one-part stand-up comedy routine to break down barriers to complex economic ideas and build awareness and momentum for issues around global climate crisis. With healthy amounts of razor-sharp wit and some seductive graphs and charts, Bauman slyly moves from humor to a compelling discussion on how carbon tax might be turned into a made-in-America solution.

Sponsored by the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council of Oregon and the Oregon Environmental Council

Yoram Bauman has shared the stage with Robin Williams and Paul Krugman, appeared in TIME, The New York Times, and on PBS Newshour and NPR, and in venues ranging from the New York Improv to the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s annual meeting, and notably on YouTube, where his videos have had over one millon hits. He is the co-author of the two-volume Cartoon Introduction to Economics.
