Learn to bring your music to life! Exclusively for students aged 13-18 who are interested in exploring or expanding their skills in computer music composition, recording, and production technology, the PSU Summer SAMP (Sonic Arts & Music Production) Camp is an opportunity to become immersed in a comprehensive, modern, technology-rich, and creativity-based learning environment. The SAMP Summer Academy is sponsored by the Portland State University School of Music & Theater and will be hosted in the School of Music’s Technology suite in Lincoln Hall.

Students will learn key music production concepts and techniques, such as how to create/modify sounds, program drum beats and create loops. Other topics will include microphone design and application, instrument recording using a multi-track digital audio workstation, audio editing techniques, mixing, and effects processing.  Apple Computer workstations, Logic Pro X, and
equipment will be provided.
