PSU History

I was originally a student at PSU.  I arrived as a student in the fall of 1985 to begin the MSW program.  I was new to both Portland and PSU.  After completing my MSW, I worked in the child welfare field for over twelve years before being hired in January of 2000 by the Child Welfare Partnership here at PSU.  I have been at PSU as a faculty member since January of 2000.

Academic/Research Focus

I have an expertise in the area of child welfare training with an emphasis on permanency and legal issues within that field.  I have been responsible for training staff who are employed in child welfare across the state for the past 15 years. I started working with the field placement team at the Portland campus three years ago. I coordinate field placements within child welfare for both CWEP students and non-CWEP students in addition to my training assignments. I will begin teaching Introduction to Child Welfare in the fall of 2015.

Personal Interests

I have an avid interest in fantasy football with life long attachment to the Green Bay Packers.  I was born in Green Bay and have many family members still living in the area.  I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time at the beach and with my family.
