What Music Theory classes do I have to take?

All majors and minors are required to take a certain number of Music Theory classes. Taught sequentially by year (Music Theory I is comprised of three sequential terms), you are required to be concurrently enrolled in Theory as well as the corresponding Sight-Singing/Ear Training Class (ex. Music Theory I is taken alongside Sight-Singing/Ear Training I, all year). A placement test will be given on the first day of class to ensure you are neither above nor below the level of Music Theory I. This test will determine the class you will take for the year (Basic Materials, Music Theory I or Music Theory II).
