The reTHINK PSU Symposium on Jan. 16 is at capacity for the morning session, including the plenary address by George Mehaffy. However, the afternoon sessions—5-minute concept presentations—are open and require no RSVP. These sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. and are in the Smith Union Ballroom. The University community is also invited to the culminating session at 3:15 p.m. The symposium, including the morning session, is available through a live feed at READ MORE

The campus-wide initiative reTHINK PSU was launched in November by Provost Sona Andrews as a "challenge" to the campus community to "think creatively" on the University's delivery of education.

Andrews is hosting the 3:15 session, which will be an interview-style conversation with President Wim Wiewel, Faculty Senate President Rob Daasch, and keynote speaker Mehaffy, vice president of academic leadership and change at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The session will also include information on developing concept proposals into full proposals as well as next steps.

Symposium participants are encouraged to bring smart phones, tablets or laptops to participate in the Twitter feed and post comments on individual proposal web pages during the presentations or later in the week.

The symposium agenda can be downloaded at, and a video of the entire program will be made available at
