Career and Professional Resources

Culture of Applied Linguistics at Portland State

Portland State University has many connections to organizations geared at helping Applied Linguistics students land careers and grow their professional skills.

The Student Organization of Applied Linguistics (SOAL) is a student-run club on campus that organizes social events focused at informing students about professional oportunities in the field of Linguistics. Members also arrange talks with professors, alumni, and professionals in the field, and provides a more in-depth way to connect with the department.

Portland State University also allies with multiple professional, national and international linguistics organizations, all of which help students achieve success after graduation.
