Two of Oregon's biggest universities made a national Top 10 list for so-called "green colleges" that are leading the way on sustainability.

Portland State University made the list for serving as a living lab of green-roofed, rain-water-flushing sustainabilty that allows students to practice hands-on green practices as undergrads.

The University of Oregon was saluted for the academic cred of numerous departments that equip graduates with eco-smart skills. UO's environmental studies department, public policy department, Lundquist College of Business and School of Architecture and Allied Arts all offer quality classes and curricula focused on sustainability, the list's authors said.

Oregon is the only state that is home to two of the Top 10 green universities on the list (woot woot!). Washington and California have one each.

The U.S. Green Building Council compiled the list, based on Princeton Review's just-released Guide to 332 Green Colleges, 2014 Edition.
