In June 2015, Portland State University and University of Oregon were awarded a grant to strengthen linkages between programs in Chinese and Russian in schools, community colleges, and universities in the Pacific Northwest. The grant takes advantage of long-standing collaborative partnerships among UO, PSU, the Portland Public Schools Dual Immersion Language Programs, Woodburn Public Schools, and the Anchorage School District.

This grant provides funding for two major initiatives for Russian: a proficiency outcomes measurement and curriculum alignment project between PSU and Portland Community College’s Russian Program, and a week-long professional development workshop for K-12 Dual Immersion Teachers that took place in June 2016.
