Jeff Baffaro: Director of International Special Programs

Jeff Baffaro is a Portland native and a graduate of PSU.  After several years working for a large multi-nationalcompany, he joined a local non-profit international educational organization where he managed study abroad programs.  Gradually he moved into inbound study programs for international visitors and has been doing so since 1991.  For the last 13 years Jeff has worked for PSU's International Special Programs. He has been married for 36 years and has 3 grown children.  His favorite sports are baseball and ice hockey and he enjoys making pizza and other Italian dishes.His favorite wine is Ciro'.  He has a good command of conversational Italian.

Masumi Lint: Program Manager

Masumi is originally from Japan.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Shizuoka, Japan and Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Idaho.  In her free time she loves to travel and enjoys outdoor activities, as well as meeting new friends from all over the world, cooking and volunteering.  She has experience working for a homestay organization prior to working for ISP, and has done homestays 4 times in 3 different countries so far: England, the U.S, and China.  Her experience allows her to understand the challenges international students face to adopt new life in academic settings as well as in living with host families in foreign countries.

Paul Braun: Program Manager

Paul is originally from the Portland area, growing up in a small town west of the city. He attended the University of Oregon and obtained concurrent Bachelor’s of Arts in both Business Administration with a focus on Global Business and in Spanish. He obtained his Master’s degree in Postsecondary, Adult & Continuing Education from Portland State University. His past work experience at both universities includes being a Spanish tutor, Resident Assistant, Peer Advisor for the Lundqist College of Business (UO), an Academic Coach for both the Learning Center and Queer Resource Center at PSU and working in a variety of jobs for the PSU International Student Life Team before joining the International Special Programs team. In his free time he enjoys camping, hiking and other outdoor activities as well
as exploring Portland’s vibrant music and restaurant scene!
