Amy Sly is a print designer specializing in books as well as data visualization and branding. A PSU alum, she began her career in publishing as a book designer with Random House, Inc. In a leap of faith she then joined BuzzFeed.com as their Art Director where she 'made things go viral’, helped them grow their editorial team, and had a lot of fun. After 8 intense, life-changing years she left New York City on her motorcycle with a laptop and some gas money in search what was next.

22 states, 9,400 miles, and 5 months of homelessness helped her decide to land in her home state of Oregon to establish her freelance design business and teach at PSU. Her clients include Abrams, Grand Central Books, Random House, Rizzoli, Quarto, Sterling, Stewart Tabori & Chang, and w+k. Books she’s designed have made the NY Times Best Sellers List and her internet work has been seen on Gothamist, The Huffington Post, Newsweek, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, PSFK, and Swiss Miss. She loves her dogs, riding motorcycles, and her boyfriend.
