Portland State University’s Institute for Sustainable Solutions is pleased to welcome Christina Dyrness Williams as the new Sustainability Communications Director.

Christina comes to PSU with a rich background in journalism and media relations, with experience covering the Oregon business and public policy fields for nearly a decade.

As founding editor of Sustainable Business Oregon, a publication of the Portland Business Journal, Christina established news coverage at the intersection of business and sustainability and created a forum for the exchange of new ideas about business models that embrace the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profitability.

“There is no greater imperative for businesses and organizations than sustainability,” she said. “I am thrilled to join the staff of Portland State University where so much important work on environmental and social justice is being done and true leadership in urban sustainability is being established.”

After launching her career as a daily reporter and editor for various publications on the East Coast, Christina moved back to her home state of Oregon in 2003 and served as managing editor of Oregon Business magazine for four years. Before joining the Portland Business Journal to launch Sustainable Business Oregon, she led public relations efforts and garnered national media attention for businesses in the clean energy sector working with Palo Alto-based Page One Public Relations.
