12:45 to 1:15 PM Ella Opdal, piano

Ella is RAPSU's pianist extraordinaire. She played before the meetings for many years when RAPSU meetings were in the Multicultural Center.

Ella was born in Minneapolis, MN and is the mother of 3 children, 4 grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren. She moved to Tigard in 1975 working as an office clerk until becoming personnel manager at Print-Right/LaserQuick. She now works full time as a musician and portrait artist.  Ella married Norton Johnson in 2006, and they enjoy RAPSU's events together. 



1:15 to 2 PM Christine Meadows and PSU Opera Students will present excerpts from the year's Spring opera, which is still to be chosen.

Mezzo-soprano Christine Meadows, a native of Portland, graduated from PSU in Music Performance and went on to study at Indiana University.  She has appeared in opera roles and concerts across the country.   Ms. Meadows teaches voice and vocal pedagogy and is Opera Program Director at PSU. Her students are often seen as winners of scholarships and vocal competitions and many of them have begun careers as singers and teachers. 





The Retired Associates of Portland State University (RAPSU) is a membership organization for the adults who are 50 years old or older. Members share opportunities for intellectual, social, and personal growth in a university setting. Membership is open to all seniors; no association with PSU required.
