Technology plays a critical role on the Portland State University campus. By facilitating access to information, technology can impact the learning experience and influence academic achievement.  The mission of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) is to empower faculty, staff and students through technology.

As part of the Portland State of Mind 2013 celebration, OIT will host a one-day series of talks that highlight selected issues regarding the use of technology on campus. The OIT Tech Talks are designed to give the PSU community an opportunity to listen to—and learn from—the experience of staff and faculty on campus who have used technology to facilitate the academic experience.

 Topics will include:

“Accessibility in a Wired World”
Jen Dugger Director, Disability Resource Center

“The Challenge to Engage: Experimenting With Synchronous Video in Online Coursework"
Jeanne Enders, PhD Executive Director, School of Business Online Initiatives, School of Business Administration

“Secure State of Mind: Security Awareness as a Habit”
Jerrod Thomas Interim Director, User Support Services, Office of Information Technology.

Each talk will be followed by a Q&A session.  Light breakfast will be served.
