Thesis Course Requirements
Students are required to first take the 4-credit HON 403 Thesis I: Prospectus seminar, in which they identify their thesis advisor and write their thesis prospectus. Upon completing HON 403 Prospectus with a passing grade, the student will then enroll in one or more of the 4-credit HON 403 Thesis II: Continuation sections, in which they will complete their thesis.
Thesis Symposium
When the thesis has been completed and submitted for review, all students participate in the required Thesis Symposium, where they present their research to a group of peers and faculty.
The Winter 2024 Thesis Symposium will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024. The schedule of presenters and Zoom links are in the Honors newsletter. If you plan to present, please sign up HERE.
When the thesis has been accepted, it is published on PDX.Scholar, Portland State University's open source archive. Honors Theses can be found HERE. Use the Advanced Search tool in the left sidebar to locate a specific thesis or a group of theses in a single major.
