Emergency Blue Light Phones

Have you noticed phones/columns with blue lights above them? Ever wondered what they are for? They are called blue light phones, and they are to be used if you ever had an injury, felt that you were in danger, or in any other emergency situation. If you were to pick up a phone, or push the call button (which is the way to use the system in the columns), the Campus Public Safety Office is immediately notified. It's an auto dial system, so you don't need to know the number in order to get help.

If for some reason you are unable to speak to the dispatch officer, they will automatically send help to your location. The location of each phone shows up on the computer screens in the Campus Public Safety office. For tips on how to stay safe while on campus, visit this website.
