Jason Jones, Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty, co-presented “Threat and Compassion: Entering the Mind and World of a Police Officer” and "Crisis and Conflict: How Police Patrol Officers Respond" at the 125th annual American Psychological Association Convention in Washington. The first presentation showed psychologists how to initiate constructive relationships with local police officers and agencies, including relationship-building strategies and ethical considerations. The second presentation discussed how police officers are trained to respond to street-level conflicts and crises, and what psychologists can learn from police officers.
