Scott Burns, Geology emeritus faculty, was the keynote speaker at the 11th Asian Regional Conference of the International Association of Engineering Geologists and the Environment, in Kathmandu, Nepal, Nov. 28. He introduced the president of the country, who opened the conference of 450 geologists from 32 countries, plus he gave the opening keynote talk, “A Major Role for Engineering Geologists around the World—Help Produce Resiliency Plans for Major Geological Hazards with an Example from Oregon, USA.”
