Dr. Nariyo Kono


Born and educated in Japan, Nariyo Kono received her interdisciplinary Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. She has taught courses including Language Maintenance/Revitalization, Educational Linguistics and Online Grant Writing Capstone Courses at Portland State University. Her research interests include CBL, Theory development in language planning and language policy, Classroom cultures, Language acquisition/pedagogy of second/heritage languages, Research ethics and Community-based language revitalization and documentation methods.
