Oregon Farmscapes

This course combines field exploration of Oregon’s diverse agricultural landscapes and encounters with its practitioners with individual research into the geography of agriculture in the Northwest. The object is to develop an understanding of the interactions of environment, economy, society, and history in shaping contemporary patterns and processes affecting Oregon farmers and ranchers.  The class requires participation in two all-day field trips, one orientation session, and a final meeting—online and/or over dinner.
