Meet M.A. TESOL 2017 graduate Ian Hancock
Meet M.A. TESOL 2017 graduate Ian Hancock

Ian Hancock (pictured with fellow graduate, Belen Llorente-Blanco) was recently admitted into Radboud University's Language and Communication (Linguistics) Research Master's and received a scholarship for international students from outside the EEA, the Holland Scholarship. Ian intends to continue his work in linguistic inquiry and practice the research methods that he learned while taking Psycholinguistics and Corpus Linguistics at PSU. Ian will be specializing in either Language or Speech Technology, with the goal of doing computational linguistics, or Psycholinguistics, in order to perform psycholinguistic research in academia. His long-term goal is to earn a PhD.

Ian writes of his experience in the MA TESOL Program: “I'm grateful for my time in the Applied Linguistics department at PSU and know that I would not be able to take this current step without it. In fact, Radboud University only came to my attention when doing a research proposal for Psycholinguistics, where I noticed the name of the university appear again and again in the articles I read. I feel completely prepared for what lays ahead of me in terms of research, and know that PSU has more than trained me for my future career, whether it be in academia doing research and/or teaching or in industry.”
