Kenya's Ambassador to Speak at Book Signing and Benefit at Portland State, August 14

Kenya_Ogego.jpgWhat: Kenya's Ambassador, Peter Nichols Rateng Oginga Ogego, will be the keynote speaker during a benefit for the Chwele community development in Kenya. The event celebrates the release of Harambee! Stories and Recipes from the African Family Circle and includes an African dinner consisting of some of the recipes from the book. The author, Grace Kuto, will be on hand to sign copies.

During his visit from August 14-16, the ambassador will also meet with Governor Kulongoski, take a tour of the Nike campus, and dialogue with the Kenyon community in Portland. He is available for interviews upon request.

Background: Chwele community development includes building a health clinic to provide primary and preventive healthcare to over 58,000 people with conditions including HIV/AIDS, malaria, diabetes, hypertension, family planning, respiratory, and water-borne diseases.
