Carl Talton, executive chair of the Portland Family of Funds and its affiliates United Fund Advisors and Northwest Community Capital Fund, has joined the PSU Foundation Board of Trustees.

The Portland Family of Funds is a family of financial consulting and management firms that have facilitated more than $2 billion in development over the last six years.

Before joining the Portland Family of Funds, Talton worked an executive for Portland General Electric and Pacific Power and Light, most recently as vice president of Government Affairs and Economic, Community and Business Development at PGE. His community and civic activities include 10 years on Oregon’s Economic Development Commission and 15 years on the Portland Development Commission, including three terms as chairman.

The PSU Foundation is an independent tax-exempt organization that enhances the development of Portland State University (PSU) through relationships, resources, and guidance. Gifts to the Foundation advance PSU by providing scholarships for outstanding students, supporting faculty research and instruction, and enhancing facilities and program development and growth.

Members are selected for their business, civic, and philanthropic leadership, their professional expertise, their ability to provide representation from a broad spectrum of community interests, and their commitment to the advancement of PSU. Talton was elected to a three-year term on the volunteer board.
