Building naming history:
724 Harrison (FMH), May 15, 2019-present
724 Harrison (no acronym), Sep. 2018-May 2019
Neuberger Hall (NH), 1972-2018
South Park Hall (SPH), 1960-1972
Classroom Building South, pre-construction

South Park Hall (SPH) was built in two sections completed on October 28, 1961 and July 26, 1969. The architect for the first section, South Park Hall-West, was Stewart & Richardson. The architect for South Park Hall-East (sometimes called South Park Hall Addition) was Wolff Zimmer Gunsul Frasca (now ZGF). In the initial design documents and plans, SPH is referred to as Classroom Building-South thus distinguishing it from the Classroom Building which was the original name for Cramer Hall.

South Park Hall was re-named Neuberger Hall (NH) on November 30, 1972 in honor of the journalist, politician, and long-time PSU supporter, Richard L. Neuberger. Neuberger was an early proponent of bringing a four-year college to Portland and provided support in the state legislature and media for the continuation of the Vanport Extension Center after its destruction in the 1948 flood.
