2014 PSU High School Innovation Challenge
Saturday, May 3, 2014 - 8:30am to Saturday, May 3, 2014 - 5:00pm

We are very excited about high school students.  They tend to be uninhibitedly imaginative and strongly inclined to help people.  They are also at an ideal stage of life to challenge the world and imagine how things could be different. The PSU Innovation Challenge Competition is designed to excite both their creativity and goodwill.

This challenge is uniquely student-driven.  High school teams are each paired with college student mentors, from engineering, computer science and pre-health disciplines, to help the students conduct fieldwork, identify a problem that can be solved through design and refine their solution by applying the engineering design process.

This year, the competition’s theme is “Technology for Aging Generations.” Eight high school student teams were invited to identify a specific way in which older people can better manage their daily lives. Teams will present their concepts to a panel of judges at the final event on May 3rd.
