Dr. Robert Ribera is an Instructor of Film Studies at Portland State University. He teaches core courses in film theory and well as a course on documentary history. His research interests include animation history, Italian Cinema, music in film, propaganda, and literature adaptations.

His current projects include a book on Walt Disney’s propaganda during WWII, and a book on contemporary film adaptations.

He was the Associate Producer on the documentary, For the Love of Movies: The Story of American Film Criticism, and the co-creator of the online music performance and interview project Sleepover Shows.

He holds a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from St. John’s University, an MFA in Film Studies from Boston University,  and a Phd in American Studies from Boston University University.
