Add to my Calendar 2021-04-24 23:00:00 2021-04-22 13:38:02 Watch Party for A Ghost Story and Pan's Labyrinth Come join us to watch a film and get to know some of your fellow film enthusiasts! We will be doing a double feature this Saturday, showcasing A Ghost Story and Pan's Labyrinth as a part of Destin’s fantasy films series. His chosen films highlight the spiritual and fantastical connection between the two because both confront death in two different ways: as a ghost hopelessly haunting his loved one and the other via fantasy during a time of war. A Ghost Story follows a recently deceased man returning as a ghost to his suburban home to console his bereft wife, only to find that in his spectral state, he has become stuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away. Starring Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck. Written and Directed by David Lowery. Pan's Labyrinth takes place in 1944 as the Allies invade Nazi-held Europe. In Spain, a troop of soldiers is sent to a remote forest to flush out the rebels. They are led by Capitan Vidal, a murdering sadist, and with him are his new wife Carmen and her daughter from a previous marriage, 11-year-old Ofelia. Ofelia witnesses her stepfather's sadistic brutality and is drawn into Pan's Labyrinth, a magical world of mythical beings. Starring Ivana Baquero, Sergi Lópe,  Maribel Verdu, and Doug Jones. Written and Directed by Guillermo del Toro. Feel free to hop in for either film or even better, for both! The first film starts at 4:00 pm and the second begins at 7:30 pm. Let’s build the film community and “go to the movies”! So grab some popcorn and get with the program. You can have your mic/camera on or off, whatever you’re comfortable with! The screening is on April 24th. Join the school of film via zoom and then we’ll tune Netflix (if you don’t have an account please let us know). To join, fill out this form.
