Megan Cho, Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL) graduate student, recently received a scholarship from the The International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). As a member of the ICSP, Megan works as a cultural ambassador of Korea who represents the culture of her country to the community. Megan visits classes at PSU, local schools (high school, middle school, elementary school, and kindergarten), local language institutes, and anywhere she can share her insight of Korean culture by giving presentations or participating on a discussion panel.

Megan also plans activities for various cultural events that allow participants greater knowledge and insight about Korean culture. Megan writes: “It is a very exciting experience, and I am applying the skills and knowledge learned in  the MA TESOL program to my work with the ICSP. I believe I was selected for the scholarship because I am an international student who is taking MA TESOL classes and because I have an open mind, I love interaction with other people, and I respect diversity. I am very proud to be a student in the MA TESOL program at PSU. Teaching is love.”
