Si se Puede Week

April 14th-18th

La Casa Latina is will be hosting a series of Events in celebration of Latino/a Culture. We will be exploring various topics that cover the Latino/a experience. 

Viva La Causa Film Screening and Student Panel
April 14th 4-6pm @ Smith 228

Viva La Causa is a film that documents the struggle that Cesar Chavez and the United Farmers Union lead to achieve farm worker's rights. The film will be followed by a panel of students that will reflect on what Cesar Chavez and Farm Worker Struggle means to them today.

Latino/a Games
April 15th 2-3:30pm @ Smith 228

Join us for a fun day of games in the Multicultural Center. We will be hosting games that are frequently played by youth in Latin American countries. 

Mujeristas & Womanists United: Latina Feminist Festival
April 16th 12-3pm @ Smith 228

The Multicultural Center will be the sight for Latina Feminist Festival. There will be various activities and booths to learn about famous Latinas and the amazing work that they have accomplished. 

Queering the Chili Queens: Culinary Citizenship through Food Consciousness
April 16th 5-6:30pm @ Smith 236

Professor Norma Cardenas from Oregon State University will be presenting her topic on the intersections between Latino cuisine and Latino identity.

DREAM'ers in Action: Creating Change Immigration Policy
April 17th 3-5pm @ Smith Parkway North

This workshop will explore the current issues happening with Federal and State Immigration Policy. 

Si se Puede Luncheon 
April 18th 12-1:30pm @ Smith 228

Help us cap off the week with Lunch in the Multicultural Center. We will be having a keynote speaker and free lunch!
