"Voluntary Simplicity" Author Duane Elgin Leads Workshop May 15

WHAT: Social visionary Duane Elgin will address the prospect for a sustainable future, through an evening lecture, "Beacons of Hope: Four Inquiries into a Promising Future," (May 14) and an all-day workshop, "Building a Sustainable Future Together: Sustainability Through an Interpersonal Neurobiology Lens" (May 15).

The lecture will explore four "deep stories" that can act as magnets for drawing us into a future of sustainable prosperity. The all-day workshop will explore the vital underpinnings of physical sustainability in the social psychology and interpersonal neurobiology of sustainability—as individuals, families, neighborhoods, metropolitan areas, nations, and as a species.

Duane Elgin's visit is sponsored by PSU's Social Sustainability Network and Colloquium and the Center for Professional Integrity and Accountability.

WHEN: Evening lecture, Friday, May 14, 6–7:30 p.m.; all-day workshop, Saturday, May 15, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
