Tour the World at Home Lecture Series: Landscape and History in Four Oregonian Fictions

One of England's foremost scholars on American literature of the Northwest, John Davies comes to Portland State for a return engagement. This popular professor, who received his PhD in English from Nottingham University, has taught several times at PSU and for a number of British universities including King's College London, the University of Hull, and Bishop Grosseteste College Lincoln, where he teaches courses on romanticism, modernism, and American literature. In his "Tour the World" lecture, Professor Davies considers the works of Oregonian authors Molly Gloss, Ursula LeGuin, Craig Lesley, and Robin Cody in the context of landscape and history. Sponsored by the Office of International Affairs, Summer Session and the Multicultural Center. This event is free and open to the public.
