Talk by author and historian Jewel Lansing

For the Women’s History Month speaker at PortlandStateUniversity, the Friends of History invited women's rights trailblazer Jewel Lansing who has also carved out several careers as an author, politician and historian.

Jewel will read from her latest work "Portland: People, Politics and Power: 1851-2001". Her acclaimed history of the City of Portland has been described in reviews as “a fact-filled volume, ...bringing to life the unique individuals and controversial issues of Portland's distant and more recent past.” Several other books by Jewel including "My Montana" and "Deadly Games in City Hall" will be available at a book signing immediately after the event.
