SAAM 2011: Planning Task Force
It's time to get involved.
The month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States. It's time to start planning events for PSU's SAAM 2011!
The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence. This year's campaign will explore common, everyday behaviors and offer students viable, responsible ways to intervene. This primary prevention approach helps to create a campus community that values respect, safety, and well-being.
This year's national theme is: "It's time ... to get involved."
The official SAAM Day of Action is: Tuesday, April 5, 2011
PSU's Take Back the Night/Bike Back the Night is: April 28, 2011
What Will We Be Doing?
As a task force member, your job will be to help plan and implement actions and events for SAAM 2011. Your ideas, creativity, time and energy will be much appreciated. You could be asked to staff an information table, put up posters, lead an event, or help in any way you can. SAAM will be a month of ongoing messaging and action, culminating in Take Back the Night/Bike Back the Night on April 28th.
How Do I Get Involved?
Come to the weekly SAAM 2011 Planning Task Force Meetings, which will be held every Wednesday from 4:00 -5:00 p.m. at the WRC, starting January 26th.
