Laura Nissen, associate professor at PSU, and Jeffrey Butts, research fellow at the University of Chicago, will discuss how Reclaiming Futures, an innovative national program based at Portland State is changing the way juvenile justice systems in 12 states help teens in trouble with drugs, alcohol and crime.

Charles Shireman (1915-2006) taught for 15 years at Portland State's School of Social Work. He was a renowned researcher and a beloved teacher of courses on juvenile and criminal justice. This memorial lecture series is a tribute to Charles Shireman's contributions to social work education and criminal justice and continues the important work he started at PSU.
