Preserving Iraq's Past: Perils & Prospects

At 7:30 pm on Friday October 13th Professor John Russell, from Massachusetts College Of Art, will present a lecture & slideshow about "Preserving Iraq's Past: Perils & Prospects". The free lecture & slideshow will be held in Portland State University's Multi Cultural Center (Smith Center 238). Parking is free in the PSU parking structures after 5:00. PSU is also served by busses #12 & 44, as well as the streetcar.

All AIA lectures are free & open to the public; the media are welcome to attend as well. Professor Russell will discuss his own recent research on the problem of how to safeguard the material culture & heritage of Iraq. John Russell has worked with the United States & Iraq to connect cultural institutions in Iraq with outside help, funding for re-construction, training, & conservation.
