Dr. David Muñoz, Associate Professor and Director of Humanitarian Engineering Program
Colorado School of Mines

Dr. David Munoz spearheaded the humanitarian engineering minor at the Colorado School of Mines. Since its inception three years ago, Dr. Muñoz
and his students have tackled over 20 projects in Honduras, Africa and Ecuador. The projects range from water systems in rural villages to designing
wheelchairs for developing countries. His curriculum ranges from Groundwater Mapping, Design of Small Renewable Energy Sources and Ethics in

Dr. Muñoz will share his thoughts on the challenges of engineering in developing countries and the importance of introducing a humanitarian
approach within engineering programs.

Light El Salvadoran buffet will be open immediately after.
