"Net Zero Classroom Design" Presentation by SERA Architects
Friday, January 25, 2008 - 11:00am to Friday, January 25, 2008 - 12:00pm
We invite you to attend an exciting presentation from SERA Architects on Friday, January 25th, from 11:00 - 12:00pm in Smith 230 on "Net Zero Classroom Design Today."

Using the criteria of the Living Building Challenge, SERA Architects and PAE Engineers have developed a prototypical classroom building to illustrate how university buildings can reach net zero targets today using existing technology. The architects and engineers have focused on the use of "state of the shelf" equipment, techniques and resources to demonstrate that it is currently possible to achieve net zero energy, water and waste water goals without relying on future technology or advancements. The team will also use a case study to illustrate similarities between the qualities of a typical university building with the requirements of a Living Buildings, making the case that the university campus setting is an ideal environment to begin achieving these goals.

We hope you will be able to attend. Please contact Beth Minor at if you have any questions.
