Jeanne C. Finley is a videomaker and artist whose work ranges from experimental to documentary forms. She teaches Media Studies at the California College of Arts and Crafts and is a Guggenheim Fellow. Her work partakes of documentary, narrative, experimental, and installation forms in order to explore the relation between the document and the documented, fiction and fact, empathy and irony. She is moved to explore these relations by the powerful evocations of visual imagery and by the frailty, strength, and elusiveness of compassion.
