A Journey of Poems Through Turkey

Join Paulann Petersen for a reading celebrating Turkey and its people.
Paulann Petersen will read from BLOOD SILK, her volume of poems about
Turkey. Dr. Pelin Basci of PSU will accompany her with readings from
the work of renowned Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet.

Paulann Petersen was a Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University.
Her two full-length volumes of poetry are THE WILD AWAKE (Confluence
Press 2002), and BLOOD SILK (Quiet Lion Press, 2004). A third
collection, A BRIDE OF NARROW ESCAPE, is forthcoming from Cloudbank
Books in 2005. She currently teaches a workshop for Mountain Writers
Series, and she serves on the board of Friends of William Stafford,
organizing the annual January Stafford Birthday Celebrations.
