PSU Institute for Asian Studies Lecture Series
"The South Korean Economy:  What Lies Ahead?"

Dr. Martin Hart-Landsberg, Professor of Economics at Lewis & Clark College, will discuss South Korea's celebrated development and state growth strategy, the internal and external factors that led to its eventual exhaustion and collapse in the 1990s and the largely negative social and economic consequences of South Korea's post-crisis embrace of neoliberalism.  South Koreans like Americans, now face the daunting task of envisioning and advancing a radically new development strategy.
