The Institute for Nonprofit Management and the Center for Public Service at Portland State University are pleased to offer a newly designed Graduate Certificate program that focuses exclusively on current and future nonprofit leaders. This program represents a new initiative joining our robust collection of nonprofit programs with the public management offerings at the Center for Public Service.
The new Graduate Certificate draws on a proven cohort model to prepare students for leadership positions in nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Over the course of a year (7 courses, 21 credit hours) students will be challenged to examine effective strategies to wrestle with the “wicked” problems affecting the nonprofit sector and society at large. Courses will study issues such as cross-sectoral boundary blurring and shared leadership; new resource development strategies including entrepreneurial activities, grantmaking and philanthropy; and social impact measurement.
