In keeping with a stated commitment to environmental sustainability, the Graduate Business Programs at Portland State University, in partnership with Net Impact, is offering a volunteer opportunity for students as a part of new student orientation September 18, 2010 from noon to 4pm. Students will travel to the Bella Organic Farm on Sauvie Island to work with Seed the Farm Organics building a green house and cultivating projects on their ½ acre plot. Bella Organic Farm is a 100 acre USDA Organic certified farm whose goal is to promote responsible farming practices. Growing a variety of produce and products that are available for U-pick, We-pick, wholesale and retail markets, they also rent out land shares to individuals and groups who would like to grow organically. Seed the Farm Organics is one such group dedicated to providing the highest quality organic produce while educating the community on making healthy choices.
