Friends of History screens 2009 film 'Young Victoria'

WHAT: Free showing of the 2009 drama "Young Victoria." PSU Friends of History celebrates the 191st anniversary of Queen Victoria of England's birthday with the free screening  of the 2009 award-winning drama "Young Victoria" on May 20 in Cramer Hall Room 494 starting at 7pm.

Queen Victoria reigned over Great Britain  for more than 63 years. She was for the most part, of German descent; the last British monarch from the House of Hanover and 7 Prime Ministers held office during her reign. Director Jean Marc Valle's 2009 film dramatizes the turbulent first years of the newly-crowned Queen's rule and her relationship with her husband, Prince Albert. The film received three 2010 Academy Award nominations, and a Golden Globe best actress nomination for Emily Blunt for her portrayal of "Young Victoria."
