ANNOUNCEMENT OF FALL TERM, 2007,
FORUMS ON THE ROLE FOR PLANNING
IN THE FUTURE OF OREGON
Presented by Arnold Cogan, FAICP, Planner-in-Residence
Three Forums Sponsored by the Nohad A. Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning
The theme of the first three of a series of forums concerns Oregon's land use planning program. In particular, Goal 1, Citizen Involvement, and Goal 2, Land Use Planning.
This session will be devoted to the subject of State Land Use Goal 1, Citizen Involvement. Joining us for this session will be Elaine Cogan, a principal with Arnold in the firm of Cogan Owens Cogan. With more than 30 years professional experience, Elaine is a specialist on the subject of public involvement and has written the definitive book, Successful Public Meetings. We will discuss old techniques that still work and newer ones to meet the challenges of today. What works? What doesn't? What are the roles of planners?
